How To Install Beggar's Backgammon Terminal

First, note that you will need PKUNZIP, or a similar unzipping utility, to complete this installation.

Step-by-step Installation Instructions:

Create a directory on your system (such as C:\BBGT) where BBGT files can be placed. (I will call this the BBGT directory)
Download the file bbgt30.zip if you haven't done so already.
Move the downloaded file (bbgt30.zip) to the BBGT directory.
Uncompress the downloaded file using PKUNZIP. This will create several new files: addicons.exe (see below), bbgt.exe (the BBGT executable), bbgt.hlp (the BBGT help file), and many .wav files (sound files).
Run the program addicons.exe if you want to add BBGT icons to your Start Menu (Windows 95) or your Program Manager (Windows 3.x).
To learn about using the BBGT interface, start the program bbgt.exe. Once running, you can press the F1 key for help.
IMPORTANT: See below for information about configuring your FIBS account for the first time you connect to FIBS using BBGT.

Configuring your FIBS account to work with BBGT

The following excerpt is taken from the help file:

BBGT will not work properly with FIBS unless you have the following settings on your FIBS account:

Boardstyle must be set to 3, or the graphical game board will not work and you will receive text game boards in the display. If boardstyle is not set to 3 on your FIBS account, set it using the command: set boardstyle 3.
Moreboards must be set to YES, or a player's roll will not be recognized, and you will be unable to move the pieces with the mouse. If moreboards if not toggled to YES on your FIBS account, toggle it using the FIBS command: toggle moreboards.
Autoboard must be set to ON, or a player's move will not be recognized, and the the game board will not be correctly updated after a player moves. If autoboard if not toggled to YES on your FIBS account, toggle it using the FIBS command: toggle autoboard.
